How to dispose of your used Ricoh cartridges

If you own a Ricoh copier or laser printer, the toner is a normal consumable for the machine. But when you change the toner cartridge, you need to handle the used one properly. Simply throwing the old toner cartridge away with the trash will add to the landfill problem, and the chemicals in the toner powder and plastic could end up in the environment. Fortunately, Ricoh provides a recycling program that makes it easy for printer and copier owners to do the right thing.


1. Open the box containing the new Ricoh toner cartridge, and check for a prepaid shipping label. Many replacement cartridges come with a prepaid shipping label to facilitate the return of the used toner.

2. Pack the used toner cartridge in the same packing materials used to ship the new one. Place the toner cartridge in the plastic bag the new cartridge came in, or wrap it in plastic wrap if the bag is not available. Use the packing materials that came with the new cartridge to protect the used cartridge during shipment.

3.Tape the box shut securely, and attach the prepaid shipping label if one came with the new toner. Otherwise go to the Milne Office Systems "green" center on our website to download your prepaid printable label.

4.Tape the shipping label to the box, and take it to the shipping center of your choice.
